For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. 1 John 5:3 NKJV
Our Father, Your commands clearly delineate Your unchanging moral law which is revealed to us in both the Old and the New Testaments. They reflect both Your agape-love and Your righteous holiness. Our sinful natures see them as grievous, oppressive, hard to be borne, restrictive and too severe. Forgive us our rebellious short-sightedness. Do whatever is needed to break our self-will and to soften our hearts to willingly submit to Your rule over every area of our lives. In Jesus Name, Amen.
