If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:8 NKJV
Our Father, our sinful natures attempt to get us to err from Your ways, to make harmful mistakes, to form inaccurate judgments, to seduce us into rebellion, and to mislead us about just how unacceptable sin is. Instead of repenting from our sin, we tend to make lame excuses, or we try to justify ourselves. Forgive us, have mercy on us. Give us the moral backbone to be ruthlessly honest about sin in our own lives and to move on to Christlikeness through radical repentance. In Jesus Name, Amen.
